Andi Barness-Rubin, a mother of three, invented a giant bag called CartSafe.”Me and my friends were kind of joking around that everyone keeps saying it looks like a condom for a shopping cart, so my new thing is safe shopping, right?” Barness-Rubin said. “I was always one of those people who wiped down at least the handle of the shopping cart when I would go grocery shopping, but once COVID hit, I kind of started freaking out about everything that I touch.”In March, the idea to make the CartSafe cover came to her and she brought it to the market in August.”CartSafe is a recyclable, disposable and even a reusable shopping cart liner that protects the outside of the cart, the inside of the cart.
