Investigators arrested Alan Terhaar, Jr., 26, in connection to investigation reported near pharmacy at 49th and Center Streets Friday evening


The Omaha Police Department identified a suspect in a fatal stabbing reported Friday evening. Investigators said the man is accused of killing his mother.Investigators said officers first responded to reports of the incident at the Kubat Pharmacy located near 49th and Center streets at around 6:30 p.m.According to OPD, the victim, Carmen Terhaar, was taken to Nebraska Medicine to treat her injuries. Terhaar, 60, later died at the hospital.Police arrested Alan Terhaar, Jr., 26, the victim’s son, and booked him into the Douglas County Jail.
