A motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in Encanto when his motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet Suburban, according to San Diego police.
Police responded at 4:14 p.m. to a report of the collision at Federal Boulevard and Winnett Street in Encanto, Officer Robert Heims said. Officers determined the 23-year-old man driving the SUV had made a left turn into a motorcyclist’s path for unknown reasons, striking the motorcycle.
The 31-year-old motorcyclist had a broken right tibia bone and a compound fracture of the right foot, Heims said. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that did not appear life-threatening.
Police determined that none of the parties involved in the collision were driving while impaired, Heims said.
