CARSON, Calif. >> A pair of 2-1 football teams — Hawaii and San Diego State — square off today in Dignity Health Sports Park.
The Aztecs are designated as the home team despite the game being played 112 miles from their San Diego campus. With SDSU’s new stadium under construction, the Aztecs are playing their home games at the home field of soccer’s LA Galaxy.
This is the third road game in 22 days for the Rainbow Warriors. They are coming off their best passing performance of the season. Chevan Cordeiro threw four scoring passes of 40-plus yards in last week’s 39-33 victory over New Mexico.
Following last week’s upset loss to San Jose State, the Aztecs are expected to return to a running attack featuring Greg Bell, Chance Bell and Jordan Byrd.
