- Advertisment -

Rain will move in early Sunday morning as gusty winds take over from the south before switching out of the west in the evening (gusts over 40 MPH)

CLEVELAND — Here we go… get ready for some weather whiplash. A nice Saturday evening will finish up with clouds moving in from the west as our next cold front approaches Ohio with strong winds, large waves, and rain for Sunday. Wind advisories will go into effect area-wide on Sunday.

Other than a spotty shower after sunset on Saturday, the majority of light-to-moderate rain will move in after midnight into Sunday morning. While thunderstorms are not expected, there may be a few isolated rumbles of thunder.

MIDNIGHT – 7 AM:  Isolated shower

7 AM – NOON:  Widespread rain

NOON – Evening:  Isolated shower, lake shower

The cold front should finish sweeping through near 1-2 PM Sunday as the majority of the rain pushes east.

Rainfall totals will near a half inch by Sunday evening.

Strong winds will blow over Northeast Ohio throughout most of the day. Expect southerly winds in the morning (15 – 25 MPH, gusts near 40 MPH), and westerly winds in the afternoon/evening (20 – 30 MPH, gusts near 50 MPH). Winds should die back down below 20 MPH by Monday morning.
