Firefighters extinguish fire at Ririe potato plant – East Idaho News

RIRIE — Firefighters from multiple agencies put out a fire at a potato processing plant in Ririe.

The fire broke out at Idaho Pacific Corporation at East 100 North just before 1 p.m. Tuesday. Central Fire Chief Carl Anderson told EastIdahoNews.com firefighters contained the fire to a small part of the building.

Anderson said everyone inside evacuated and no injuries were reported.

The plant processes and makes dehydrated potato products like potato flour and potato flakes.

The Ucon and Madison Fire Departments also responded to help Central Fire District.

An estimate of damages to the plant is not yet available.

Anderson said the cause of the fire is not being released.
