Two people are dead after an early morning shooting Saturday in Lamar County.
Sheriff Danny Rigel said a 911 call of shots fired came in just before 1:30 a.m. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman dead of gunshot wounds.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
Rigel said the incident occurred on the 1600 block of Purvis-to-Baxterville Road.
Deputies are looking for 39-year-old Anthony Shane Simmons of Perkinston in connection with the murders. He is 6 feet tall and weighs around 160 pounds.
There is a warrant for Simmons’ arrest on two counts of first-degree murder.
