Aurora police release video of armed robber who shot store clerk

An Aurora store clerk was shot during an armed robbery, and police on Tuesday released video in hope that someone recognizes the gunman, who wore a mask.

The shooting happened at about 9:45 a.m. Nov. 2 at the PJ Mart, 980 S. Peoria St., police said.

The shooter is described as a white or Hispanic man, about 5 feet, 8 inches and 140 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants and a gray beanie at the time of the incident.

In the video, the clerk is seen coming around the counter and briefly holding the armed robber at gunpoint. The shooter fled on foot. The clerk survived the shooting, police said.
