‘At least five’ victims in Mesa shooting Friday evening

Mesa Police investigate a multiple shooting, Oct. 17, 2020, in a parking lot near Dobson and Guadalupe Roads, Mesa. At least five people were shot during an incident on Friday evening.

At least five people were shot during an incident in southwest Mesa on Friday evening, police said.

The shooting happened at around 9:30 p.m. in a parking lot near Dobson and Guadalupe Roads, Mesa police spokesman Detective Nik Rasheta said.

Officers found “at least five”  victims at the scene, Rasheta said in an email at about 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Police were expected to remain at the scene for “quite some time,” Rasheta said Friday evening.
